In this post, I would like to request some changes to the files manager.
The idea of File Sharing is very nice, but in practice it's not so useful in Populi.
Here's a few things we've encountered:
- Personal Files and Shared Files fills up the Personal Storage Limit. Would be nice if there is a way to separate Personal Storage Limits vs. Shared Storage Limits. Have two separate storage pools.
- There is no Dropbox User Role, where you can upload, but can't delete what's in the folder.
- Would be nice for the Editor to not be able to move documents around, leave it only to the Manage role.
- (More of a Technical Issue) When (User A) shares a folder, (User B) creates a folder within that folder, there's no way for User A to access that folder. The permissions get changed.
- There's no way to create a parent folder then sub-folders and have each sub-folder have delegated role access. It may be hard to develop, if so, no worries.
Please consider looking into the Files Feature. We would like to utilize it more, but it's not very convenient at this time. Thank you!
