Populi shows only the net disbursements to students for their students loans. As a result, the total amount of disbursements does not add up to the total loan amount. This is confusing for students.
It would be helpful if the loan disbursements showed both the gross amount (what the student requested) and the net amount (what the student actually gets after the Dept. of Ed takes their cut).
I feel like this would cut down on student confusion and add transparency for the students.
I've included a screenshot example of what students see. As you can see, from the students perspective, the disbursements do not add up to the total amount of the loan, which looks shady.
