Support inline/embedded rendering for LTI 1.3 Deep Linking content

We would like Populi to support inline (embedded) rendering of LTI 1.3 Deep Linking content, rather than always creating a clickable LTI link.

Current behavior

When using Panopto with LTI 1.3 Deep Linking (Content Selection), selecting a video successfully creates an LTI resource in the lesson. However, students must first click the LTI link before the video opens.

Desired behavior

Allow LTI 1.3 Deep Linking content to be displayed directly within the lesson page when supported by the LTI tool, so students can immediately view the selected content without an extra click.

This is already supported by several major LMS platforms (such as Moodle), where Panopto videos selected through LTI 1.3 Deep Linking appear embedded directly in the course page.

Use case

Our instructors build online courses where each lesson begins with a lecture video. Having students click an intermediate LTI link before every video creates unnecessary friction and interrupts the learning experience.

Embedding the selected content directly in the lesson would provide a much smoother experience while still allowing authentication and permissions to be handled through LTI.

This enhancement would benefit not only Panopto, but any LTI 1.3 tool capable of providing embeddable Deep Linking content.

This request is not about replacing LTI resource links, but about providing an optional display mode for tools that support embedded presentation. Existing behavior could remain the default for institutions that prefer link-based launches.
