The problem: Right now, generating a list of students currently enrolled in a specific program requires a manual, multi-step workaround. There's no quick, direct way for admin staff to pull "everyone currently enrolled in Program X" as a clean, ready-to-use list.
What we'd like: A simple, built-in way for admin to generate a list of currently-enrolled students filtered by program (excluding graduated, withdrawn, or inactive students), that we could then:
- Message directly within Populi (e.g., email/announcement to that group), and
- Export cleanly (e.g., to CSV) for use in outside tools like mail merges.
Ideally this would work as a filter or saved view on the Students/Programs page — something like "Program = [X]" + "Status = Currently Enrolled" — with a "Message this group" and "Export" option right there, rather than having to build the list manually each time.
Why it matters: We regularly need to communicate with students by program (e.g., program updates, advising outreach, course changes) and the current process is time-consuming and error-prone since it's done by hand. A faster, filter-based approach would save significant admin time across all our programs, not just one.
