I would like to suggest adding a feature that allows students to easily track their replies within course discussions.
Many courses require students to post an original discussion response and then reply to a specific number of classmates. In discussion-heavy courses, it can be difficult to keep track of which discussions have been completed and how many peer replies have been submitted without reopening each discussion and searching through the thread.
It would be helpful if Populi displayed the student's participation directly on the discussion page or course dashboard. For example:
Your activity: Original post ✓ | Peer replies: 2
Ideally, the reply count would be clickable, allowing the student to quickly view or jump directly to their individual replies.
If an instructor has established a required number of replies for the discussion, an additional progress indicator could show:
Peer replies: 1 of 2 completed
This would make it much easier for students to confirm that they have completed all discussion requirements before the deadline, particularly in courses with multiple weekly discussions and peer-response requirements.
