I would like to suggest a feature enhancement for discussion notifications. Currently, the “Get Email Updates” option is not enabled by default when a new discussion is created. As a result, users must manually enable email notifications for each discussion to stay up to date on new posts and replies.
For instructors and students who rely on timely updates, this manual step can be easily overlooked, leading to missed notifications. It would be extremely helpful to have a setting at the user or course level that allows us to change the default behavior so that “Get Email Updates” is automatically enabled for all newly created discussions.
Such a setting would streamline communication, reduce the risk of missed messages, and improve the overall user experience.
