It would be helpful to be able to create a customizable financial aid application (similar to a form). Key fields could then be linked to the student's financial aid page so that after the application is submitted, a financial aid officer is notified. The FA officer can then verify documentation and other data before approving. Once approved the data can autopopulate to the student's Financial Aid page, eliminating the need for manual entry and mitigating typos or errors.
The application should be able to be initiated by a student or perspective student without needing to contact the Financial Aid office first.
