I am working on creating a useable backup of students' financial history into Excel spreadsheets as part of our Disaster Recovery process. I have been experimenting with API calls and was able to generate a rudimentary financial history file, but it's not quite what we were wanting. However, in another random project request, I was experimenting with the built-in "Send Personal Data Archive" button on a student's record, and the file archive that this button generated included a financial_history.xlsx file that is exactly what we were hoping to pull nightly for a particular batch of students.
Our nightly python scripts use the Populi API to get JSON objects, which I then parse through and grab the datapoints we want and export them into usable Excel files.
Would it be possible for you to convert the financial_history.xlsx file creation into an API call? Even if that call returns a JSON object, I have the logic I need to convert it back into an Excel file. But it would be super helpful if you already have something built out that returns this financial history section on a student's record.
I know I can use the "Send Personal Data Archive" button or the student's profile > Financial > History to export a particular student's financial history, but we are wanting to regularly back up a large number of students' and their financial history, which makes a python script with a looped API call much more ideal.
