While in general the Birthday announcements on the Home page are nice, and students can hide their birthdays from non-staffers. Occasionally a student doesn't want any acknowledgement of their birthday at all and that's hard to accomplish when it's announced in the Home feed for everyone to see. We don't want to turn off Birthday Notifications altogether but would like to let students decide for themselves whether or not they show up in those announcements.
Just a little checkbox in general settings "Don't announce birthday" or something like that that keeps them off the feed.
