Where is the "global view" of the course like the one students get with a traditional syllabus? This view would show the lessons in sequence with readings and assignments for each day. Moodle has such a page. Ideally, we'd do the same in Populi, allowing students to click from a global view to specific lessons, readings and assignments.
What we can create with lessons and assignments works well for individual classes, but the global perspective showing the flow of the course is critical to my pedagogy. Without it, the excellent functionality of lessons and assignments visually chops the course into bits. The teacher has to do a lot of talking to substitute for the helpful orienting visual of the syllabus and keep the students oriented and convey the arc of the course.
