Have you guys considered creating a Career Services tab? For schools that need to report on Gainful Employment and as a way of tracking Career Services, leads sent to Alumni, calls made, emails sent, those kinds of things would be most helpful. We could get our Career Services Department to provide the information that would be most helpful and maybe you could develop this aspect?

As the OP said, some sort of built-out Alumni section within Populi would be excellent. Everyone who has the system "alumni" tag would be automatically fed into this section. Reports could be pulled from this section pertaining to career services, alumni relations/metrics, giving, etc. These reports can easily be used to set communication plans/utilize communication templates/etc.
An Alumni Affairs role in Populi would allow Alumni staff to access a new tab in the student profiles. This tab can include data pertaining to what the student is doing post-graduation. It would be customizable for each school, and there could be multiple different fields of what they are doing post-graduation (such as personally, professionally, spiritual/vocational, etc). This would read almost as a resume section, but the overall set of the data could be filtered in the Alumni section in Populi for all alumni. This would make it easy to connect alumni with current or prospective students for mentoring. It also would make it easy to know exactly what alumni within a given program/concentration are doing now.
An advantage of adding an alumni tab to the student profiles would be that any contact information that needs updating can be done directly in the student's Info tab. This keeps everything centralized in Populi.

Our college is starting to build out an Alumni & Advancement strategy in 2024. An Advancement section with Alumni subcategory (to also subcategorize Career/Placement services) would be great, specifically with access to biographical data, work/location data, engagement tiers, and a record of communication.
To start, I suggest adding "Career Services" tab with tracking of internships (start/end dates and completion P/F), mentoring (start/end dates and completion P/F), workshops attended, certifications awarded, etc. Nothing elaborate just a place to track non-academic career-oriented work that can be effectively tracked, managed, and reported.
I love this, and our school would really benefit from it as well!
As the Career Services Manager at our school, I second the suggestions above. This is an area we are lacking efficiency in, but the data is extremely important to track.
Jumping in to also request some form of Gainful Employment tracking. I saw all of the discussions regarding this feature from 10+ years ago, and the demand for tracking this information has only increased since.
