We love the idea of the Conferences feature, so we can have tighter Zoom integration. However, we need to have gradeable Zoom meetings, with the ability to make them up via a document submission.
Therefore, we are requesting the ability to integrate Conferences with an Assignment page, if desired, like the way that you can integrate Discussions with an Assignment.
Here are the limitations right now that mean we can't use Conferences:
1) Since Conferences aren't themselves gradeable Assignments, if we were to use them, we would have to have them in the system twice - once as an Assignment and once as a Conference.
2) Also, the formatting of the Conference looks odd in the course Lesson if you add a description that is longer than 2 lines or so. We would prefer if Conference descriptions could show on a dedicated page, like they do for Assignments and Discussions.
3) You have to have a password for all your meetings if you use Populi's Zoom integration. We use the waiting room for our meetings, and so this would make things less usable for our students, if we implemented this.
This item #3 is not directly related to linking Conferences with Assignments, so let me know if you want me to separate that out as a different feature request.
Thanks for your consideration - we would love to be able to use this feature, but right now it's still too limited for us. So right now, we are still manually creating Assignments with Zoom information in them.
