Feature Request: Make the calendar links go to the assignment page

Our instructors use the calendar feature to set due dates from assignments. When in the Calendar (black banner) students can see all of the assignments they have coming up for all of their courses. The only problem is, when students click on the assignment from the calendar, it doesn't go to the assignment page (with specific details about the assignment) as expected. Is there a way to link the assignment in the calendar directly to the assignment page?

  This would be hugely helpful to us, since we schedule assignments that have a live session component and the agenda for the live session is in the assignment description.
  
  It is very counterintuitive that clicking on a calendar link doesn't go to further details on the assignment.
