It seems that all assignments must be graded, but it would be nice if we had the option to just click P or F, rather than assign a grade to the assignment. This would be the case for some assignments in courses that are graded and in courses that are P/F. Why does the assignment require either a grade or it is marked as excused. I don't want to assign a grade, I just need to mark it as complete. The student can't pass the course without completing the assignment, but the assignment is only graded as P or F. Please add this feature. Thank you.

Toby Robinson Official comment There are now two new settings for an assignment:
1. Pass / Fail
Instead of having a alpha/numeric grade input/display you just select Pass of Fail.
2. Mandatory Pass
This assignment must be passed in order to complete the course. If you get a failing grade on it your course grade goes to an F.

Melissa Fuller Haskin I also would like this feature. Thank you.

Jessica Babaker This is important, especially for homework that is required to pass the course. You can't weight these assignments, because they shouldn't factor as a percentage of the grade. Failure on these kinds of assignments needs to trigger the student's final grade to be 0/IN.
Maybe this could be a unique course group that behaves differently from the other weighted groups, so that when any one assignment in that group is failed, it brings the entire course grade down.
For other users that are looking for Pass/Fail grading, it may help you to set these kinds of assignments to be worth just 1 point. So the grade will be either 1 or 0, which is just a translation of Pass or Fail. It makes it a little easier on the eyes when working with the gradebook.
