In the clinical portion of our Rad Tech program, students begin the program with 80 hours of time in a "personal bank" of hours. As they use this time, we currently enter that into an Excel spreadsheet that "counts down" their remaining number of hours, which is, of course, always of great interest to the student! Any way to add a feature similar to this in the "Attendance" section? The current plan is to post our current Excel document into the students' "inbox" so they can see their remaining balance of time, and simply replace that file when there is a change to their hours. This will certainly work but it's just a thought...

Cecilio Lorenzo In the Attendance section, besides the number of days absence, number of hours attended would be a big plus to programs that require to complete "x" number of hours in a given program term. For example, Nursing Assistant student are required to complete 100 clinical hours in order to graduate. So recording the number of hours in the Attendance section would make the hours completed easy to track.

James Hi Dana,
This is actually in the works - you'll be able to specify "Hours attended from a particular course group" requirements for a degree, and we'll automatically have that requirement affect the degree audit and appear on the transcript (e.g. "Cumulative Clinical Hours Attended: 211.5").
Thanks!

Phuong Nguyen Hey James, I saw that this is marked as done. Could you point me to the release notes about this feature? I'm having a hard time finding it.
Thanks!

James Hi Phuong,
Not sure we had release notes back then, but here's a relevant Knowledge Base article: https://support.populiweb.com/entries/402850-How-do-I-enable-Populi-to-track-clinical-hours-
The short answer is: just add a clinical hour requirement to a particular degree (see https://support.populiweb.com/entries/374617-Degree-Requirements) and Populi will automatically track/summarize it for you on the degree audit and transcript.
Also, we've recently added both clinical hours *and* attendance hours (you can use one or both, and they have no affect on each other). We're working on updating the documentation everywhere, but I'm not sure if it's completed yet.
Cheers!
James
