We want to add individuals to custom tags but are finding it cumbersome to go to the individual and then add the tag. Is there a way to add people into a custom tag more efficiently. The process might look like this:
Add Tag to 1st individual creating the custom tag
Click on the Tag to view list
Click add individuals allowing us to populate the tag
You can batch add tags to students via the Data Slicer in Academics. Just filter to a list of people you want to tag and then click Actions > Tag Results.

I know our Admissions staff would love to have access to this function.

Using the data slicer still seems a bit cumbersome. Where we would like to use this is to identify students involved in some of the extra-curricular activites like - student council. I'm not sure how that would work in the data-slicer.
@Patrick—if you use Custom Info fields to track things like student council, you can get at those via the Data Slicer. Just set the info field type to "Student" and it will be among your options in the DS. The DS also lets you find people by tags (in addition to the mass-tagging options Adam already mentioned).
Our student workers, staff, faculty seem to be over using "custom tags". We have multiple tags for same things - just spelled differently or misspelled, multiple fields in one tag, etc.
Admissions Department needs option to add/remove tags from "prospects", those who are not a student. Data Slicer works for enrolled students but admissions needs the option to edit custom tags without going to each individual to add/remove. We are having difficulty with workers just randomly adding tags and are trying to clean up our custom tags and provide a list of tags to use to our workers.
