Apply and unapply payments to invoices with a click

I feel like if Populi is serious about using their program as a bookkeeping method for student accounts, the application of payments to invoices needs some serious work. When a payment is being entered, instead of a dialogue box/window showing any invoices that have been entered with fields for how much of the payment to apply to any and all invoices, it should simply have the option to select an invoice to apply the payment to, just like in QuickBooks. If the payment is greater than the remaining amount do on an invoice, it should the apply the remaining amount to the next selected invoice. 

Also, if a payment has been applied or entered incorrectly, you should have the option to view the transaction and, within that transaction change the way it was applied to the invoice by deselecting, selecting, etc, instead of having to void the transactions and start over. A more dynamic work flow.

One reason the current flow is problematic is, if an invoice is entered after a payment or FA disbursement is entered, the amount applied to the invoice seems random. From the "By Term" tab, the random amount applied shows up as a payment received, even though the actual amount received will show up if you actually click on the transaction to view it. In your actual book keeping records it does not show up this way. So verifying or reconciling the two is confusing and time-consuming.
