Reducing steps in application process

Hi Brendan and team,

I've already mentioned this to you, but just including it here too.

Is there any possible way to streamline the steps of the application process? As getting applications is the main goal of our admissions effort, we want to make it easy for people to complete an application in a single sitting. As far as I know, there's no way someone can do that unless there is instantaneous communication once Providence receives their initial info, then import it, then email them the link to their password. If the password email could be automated, then they could continue finishing the application while they are still at the computer. Otherwise, it's likely they'll have to return to Populi at a later time, which, for a high school kid, seems like a mountainous task.

Thanks for your work on this. I think it would be huge improvement in the next version of Populi!

  I could not agree more.  It appears to me that most of the other systems to automatically generate a password once the student enters their information.  That is the best case scenario.  You could set it so that people who don't want to auto generate the password could simply shut the option off.  This would really help us out.  If the student applies on Friday they would have to wait until Monday.  That is a long time to wait for your password.

  We agree. As a school that targets Christian ministers, we consider where an applicant is "plugged into" a ministry a vital piece of the application, not an ancillary component. It also helps to have that information if we need to do additional recruiting--finding an alum or current student in a similar ministry can be a big help.

  I like the option of having automatically generated usernames and an invitation link sent instantaneously.

  I just looked back on my old comment. We have since set up our own application process independent of Populi's avenue for that.

  With the new application that went live last month it's now possible to complete the whole application in one sitting, and an applicant no longer needs a Populi account.
