It would be helpful to have additional features in the text editor such as text color and the ability to do justification of text i.e., left, center, right. This would add to the visual effectiveness of courses.

This would be fantastic to implement this text editor. Students at our school are requesting this feature, too, kind of like you have it here below.

Adam Sentz @Raul - We already use the same text editor in your screenshot (Tiny MCE) for lesson content. Ken is just asking us to add some features to it. I'm guessing that you are referring to something other than lesson content. Students can already do basic inline text formatting in many places that they are able to post in Populi. You can learn more here https://support.populiweb.com/entries/20882328-text-formatting

Thanks, Adam.
Yeah, our students are interested in having these text editing features available when making posts/comments, similar to the basic text editing options for adding this comment.
Is this feature at all available to implement for adding posts/comments in discussions?

Adam Sentz @Raul - Students can do some basic inline text formatting like you can here (e.g. bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, etc.) by using some simple text markup that they can read about here https://support.populiweb.com/entries/20882328-text-formatting
A WYSIWYG text editor like this one is not available for posts or comments in discussions.

@Adam, I understand it is not available. Is it possible for your design team to make it available?

I want some coffee now :0)

Adam Sentz @Raul - We don't have any plans to add a WYSIWYG text editor to discussion posts or comments at this time. If you'd like to open up a feature request for that so we can gauge its popularity with everyone that would be great.

Thanks, Adam. Is the popularity gauged from a single school or is the popularity gauged across the board with your clients?
-
Adam Sentz @Raul - There's no empirical metric. Yes, every help desk user can vote for each topic one time, but, as this isn't the only line of communication with current and potential users and as popularity isn't the only factor that goes into what we decide to develop, we just have to use our best judgement.

What would it cost the school if we wanted it developed?
-
Adam Sentz @Raul - We don't do custom development. We make decisions about what to work on based on what we think is going to be best for our current and potential clients and thereby our business. I imagine you could contract out to a software development company to create a browser plugin that does what you want, but I have no idea how much that would cost.

Thanks for the prompt responses, Adam. I really appreciate this. Were we to go this route of contracting software developer, is the Populi code accessible for them to work from? -
Adam Sentz @Raul - Populi's code is not available to anyone aside from Populi employees that work on it.

Adam, I really appreciate you helping me understand our options. I am going to send you some Puerto Rican coffee some day :0)
