At our school an audit student must attend at least 70% of the class sessions in order to receive a "Successful Audit (AUD)". Right now Populi does not include Auditors on the roster in a way that allows us to track their attendance. We are noting each auditor's absences on their Activity Feed, which is cumbersome. Could Auditors be included on the list for taking attendance for each session of class?

Joel Wingo Has there been any further discussion of this? Basically, we just need to be able to make Audit students as Present, Tardy, or Excused along with the others who are taking the class.

Adam Sentz @Joel - We're working on some stuff to address the desire to treat auditors more like for-credit students. Marking this Planned.

Adam Sentz @Joel - Do you have an attendance requirement for non-auditing students? If so, what's the % threshold?
-
Joel Wingo Adam, we don't exactly have a % threshold for non-audtiting students, but we require them to withdraw if they miss more than three weeks/sessions of any course.
Also, at the end of every course we manually apply a grade reduction penalty to their final grade for unexcused absences (1 increment for each unexcused absence or two tardies, e.g. A to A-). One drawback is that student have to calculate their own penalty during the course, since it is not applied until just before the course is finalized. We are open to considering changes if there is a better way to handle this using what is available in Populi in the future.

Adam Sentz Attendance grades are coming in the not-too-distant future. I imagine you could make that work for you. Stay tuned!

Toby Robinson You can now track attendance for auditors.

Joel Wingo Shouts of joy! Thank you guys!

Sue Lamphere Auditors are not showing on our attendance rosters (or in the gradebook).
-
Adam Sentz @Sue - On the course Info tab there's now a setting called "Auditors" with options to enable grades and attendance.

Permanently deleted user Is there a way to default all future courses to enable attendance/grades for auditors?

Adam Sentz @Aby - We could do a bulk change to all of your catalog courses. Please open a support request.
