We would like to have the students be able to register for classes, yet we would like the ability to have several checks or holds (i.e., advisor, finance, registrar, etc.) before their registration became official.
Students want to feel like they are moving along in the registration process and letting them select classes at the beginning of the registration process is very helpful to them. They really don't like (and I can't blame them) going through the steps of our registration process (i.e., vehicle registration, cafeteria package, etc.), however it is necessary.
Essentially, I'd like to see the students being able to register for classes, but to have a check from one or more entities before they are "officially" enrolled. Similar to the process used in the application process, their are steps or things to be checked off before they become actual students.
