We'd love to be able to use Populi's Bookstore Point of Sale to replace our ancient cash register and receipt database. There are three main things we would need in order to do this:
1. Ability to ring up random amounts, instead of selling only specific inventory items listed with preset prices. For example, we'd like to be able to use the Point of Sale to take a credit card or cash payment for $420 to cover a tuition payment, a $17.50 payment for a Library late fee, a $5.25 payment for mailing a package, etc.
2. Better end of day reports. We need a report that includes ALL transactions for the day: bookstore, online payments, checks received in the mail, etc.
3. Ability to make Point of Sale transaction activity visible on the student's financial tab. Right now we can bill Bookstore items to a student's account and the application fee is also recorded there, but it would be nice if all Bookstore transactions could have the option of being recorded there too.
