This is a request for a new feature - customizable automated email triggers. ie, if a student is placed on a financial lock, an email will automatically notify the professor that the student shouldn't be in class until their balance is cleared.

An automated e-mail trigger would be helpful for keeping track of attendance as well. According to our policy once a student has missed more than 20% of a course (5 absences) he/she automatically fails the course. It would be very helpful for both our students and professors if a warning e-mail could be sent out when the student is nearing that mark.
Is there anything like this in development?
I was just looking at absences for some of our classes, and auto-triggered emails would be FANTASTIC! We can auto-send warnings, notifications, etc.
