Right now when creating an email template for use in a communication plan, Populi gives the ability to designate a "reply-to" email. It'd be great if you could also designate who it appears the email is sent from. For example, there are emails that we'd like to have sent automatically, but look like they come from a professor or the college's president rather than the Populi user who's applied the communication plan.

Toby Robinson Hi Dave,
You can actually assign a sender to a communication plan when that plan is applied to someone. When you apply a plan, you will get the option of it being applied by "me" or "someone else." If you select "someone else" you can then search for the person you want to be the sender.
Now selecting this person will show all communications in that communication plan as coming from them. I'm assuming though that you want to have different communications come from different people. This is also possible by using multiple communication plans. You could have one communication plan that only contains an email from the president. You can then apply that plan as being from him. You could also have another comm plan set to be from the student's professor and then apply it as coming from the professor.
Does all that make sense? Feel free to follow up with me for further explanation.
Thanks!
Toby
