Take for example:
We have a "Prospect" communication plan and an "Applicant" communication. Ideally, we would delete the prospect plan and apply the applicant plan when the prospect turn into an applicant...this way the person does not get unnecessary communication catered to prospective students.
Thus far, I do not see an option for deleting the plan to avoid sending out the old scheduled communication items & To Dos except to manually delete them. But this is a time consuming process especially if a plan has lots of scheduled events/tasks/ etc.
