To take time and weight off of the admins shoulders, it would be great if we could have the instructors/ faculty be given the ability to add their own students, even if they could copy rosters.
It doesn't have to have it's own role, just an "ability" to do so, like assign only certain people to do this.
Maybe under the roles, it can have a box to check that they can enter/manage their own, making it a more student/teacher feeling.
Actually, we released this functionality last June: on the course Info tab, you'll see a setting for Roster Management, which lets you give roster-editing privileges to faculty if you so desire.
So you know, we are going to rein this feature in a little bit in an upcoming release: we're going to restrict faculty privileges to enrolling, withdrawing, and deleting students before the add/drop date. But even with that upcoming restriction, I believe this still handily takes care of your needs.
