I would like to be able to produce an admissions funnel report that was 'sliced' by degree specialization. My institution has one program, two degrees, 10 minors, and a few dozen tracks/concentrations. Though students initially apply only to a degree, we use information about their desired minor for analysis and recruitment purposes. For analysis, we need to be able to know how many students are at a particular point in the funnel based on proposed major. For recruitment, we need to be able to create a list of students by major, provide this list to department chairs, and create separate communication plans by major (department) from chairs to potential students. It would help immensely if students could apply by specialization and reports could be produced by specialization.

Toby Robinson "Degree" and "Specializations" have been added as possible conditions in the funnel report and leads table filter.

Michael DeLashmutt That's helpful, however I think the feature I was really hoping to add would give applicants and leads the ability to voice interest in a specialization (rather than just a program) earlier in the admissions process. Being able to cut the funnel by specialization doesn't help us because there's not any specialization data for students at that sage in the process. If leads and applicants to voice interest in a specialization, then the funnel report could reflect this more accurately. I'm guessing this is a major feature request?

Joseph Schoolland Michael,
Applicants can already choose their degree and specialization on the application. Go to Admissions > Settings > Application Forms and choose the application that you want to work on. Add a new field, select the "Choose from a list" answer type, and then choose Degree. And you can do this all over again to make a field for Specialization. (Oh, don't forget the Field names and descriptions.) Now Populi will present your degrees and specializations to the applicant and you'll be able to import that info when you accept the application.
Did that help?
