Add a field for in the section for adding copies that allows someone to notate if the item was a gift and where that gift came from. There is currently only a field for purchase price and it does not allow you to type letters into it. Being able to label items as gifts would be help to manage the collection.

I think the best way to handle this would be indicate the donation in the Acquisition Source. For example, you could add an Acquisition Source of "John Doe (gift)." Or simply "John Doe" with a purchase price of $0 would also indicate that it was a gift.

That could work. Is it possible to move Acquisition Source to where you first add copies? That would eliminate several steps as you would not have click into the resources and then copy to find the field and edit it.

Mark Ackerman Heather, Just to be clear, you are requesting that we add the ability to add Acquisition Source and Acquisition Date (although it would default to todays date) to the screen shown in the attached screenshot, right?

Sample Student Yes. That would make the process to add gifts and other materials to the library more streamlined and faster. It could be done as the copy is added and not in a later step.
