We have different steps that are part of our Admissions Process. Application > References > Transcripts > Audition > Interview > Final Decision. I believe it would be very beneficial for the applicant and even admissions staff reviewing all applications to have somewhere that the applicant can see a quick and basic checklist of requirements for admissions and see where they have progressed in the Admissions Process.
For example, once we have received and accepted their submitted application next to the first step "Application" it will either have a green check mark next to it or say complete. Once we receive their transcripts it can be check-off or say received. Next to audition it can be blank & then once their audition is scheduled it can say schedule/received video audition and then complete.
So each step will have a check mark/complete/received next to it once the admissions staff considers that step completed. While it is not complete it can either have a grayed out check mark or say pending, or waiting, etc. Admissions staff could have the option to customize the checklist. It can be a page that is only made available after they have submitted their application or it can be a tab in their application that they can always come back to like "Admissions Progress" or something to that nature.
I think it could be a good, quick option when people just want to check up on their progress and see where they are at in the Admissions Process cause applicants sometimes forget even though we have communicated it to them over the phone or through e-mail and also help admissions staff after an application has already been reviewed and when we go back we can see what specific steps they have completed or have left to complete without having to constantly scroll through the application, communication, or go through files uploaded. I understand this could be a bit much since it would have different information depending on the specific schools Admissions Process.
Just wanted to put this out there as a possibility cause I have had this as an applicant for a school before and it was very useful to me.
