We have the problem every semester in which a small number of students don't pay their bill by the start of classes. We wish the financial lock prevented them from accessing their classes which would force them to pay or drop the class. Instead, to get the students' attention, we have to block them from logging into Populi completely. Then, if they want to access their class, they have to contact us to unblock their account. It would be much better if the financial lock allowed access to pay while also blocking access to classes. Thanks for considering this for us.

Deborah Haggett So... this is something we are running into also... is there any response to this? Students have a self enrollment tag...they register the end of July... they never pay; now 4 weeks into classes they want to withdraw. How can we circumvent this issue.

Carla Bender We would also like a way to prevent a student from seeing registration data with a lock- it seems like it should be part of the academics module, rather than finance. Students need to be prevented from registration, etc. for reasons other than owing the school.

Adam Sentz @Carla - Populi has a "registration lock" that can be applied by users with the appropriate academic permissions that sounds like maybe what you're looking for.

Carla Bender If such a lock was made available, it should allow applying the lock individually or to a group of students.

Carla Bender Oh, thanks. I wasn't aware because I don't have a lot of access to Academics. Is it flexible to be able to apply to one student or to a group?

Adam Sentz It can be applied to an individual or to a group via the Data Slicer. A number of schools apply it to all of their students every term that way. Grades/Transcript and Financial locks can be added and removed the same way.
