a survey function for Populi Library

Greetings,

As you may know, it is vital for institutions of higher education to be able to assess institutional effectiveness.  TRACCS (the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools), SACS (Southeastern Association of Colleges and Schools) and probably all other accreditation associations, require that the schools they accredit be able to assess institutional effectiveness.  Assessing institutional effectiveness is one of the biggest priorities that any accredited institution of higher education has.  Assessing the effectiveness of library resources and services also is a vital part of assessing the effectiveness of our institution overall.

Toward that end, it occurred to me that the end-of-semester evaluation function that Populi provides to students could also be included in the Populi-Library part of this software program.  In the past, I have used a survey form in Google-docs to develop and disseminate a survey to our students on their perception of our library's staff and resources.  Unfortunately, this program is less-than "user-friendly" and the response rate that I get from our students is low.

Please tell me that you can adapt the existing technology in course evaluation to library evaluation.  Having this available to us would make my job a lot easier.  Having such a system built in to the program that our students are already using will make things easier for me and will likely improve the participation rate.

Thanks,

Bob McInnes
