Currently, when a student's active student role status is unchecked and made inactive, a grade of W is automatically awarded to all of their IP courses. We would like to be able to choose what grades to award in each course (without going into each individual course roster...) rather than having a grade of W automatically awarded.

Christopher Sumpter Most institutions have a policy similar to ours, which is that students withdrawing after the 10th week of the semester do not receive a W, but receive the letter grade they have earned (usually, an F). There is no functionality in Populi to do this, so I have to go into each roster to fix each grade.

Adam Sentz @Benji & Chris - What do you think of having a date at the term level that dictates whether a withdrawn student gets a W or a grade in a course?
-
Christopher Sumpter That would be perfect for us.

Benji Swafford @Adam - That may work for us; we would just need to be able to award the appropriate grade depending on two factors: the date of the withdrawal and the course grade at the time of withdrawal.
Here's the policy we're currently working with to give you an idea of what we're looking at. Currently, students are awarded a grade of 'WF' (withdrawn failing) if they withdraw after the drop/add date with a failing class average at the time of the withdrawal. If they are passing at the time, then they receive a grade of 'WP' (withdrawn passing). If the student withdraws after the 'WP/WF' date, which is pretty late in the term, then they automatically receive a grade of 'WF'. If they withdraw before drop/add, then they are awarded a 'W' no matter their current course grade. We would need to be able to set these parameters. -
Evan Donovan Benji's policy sounds similar to ours.

Rosin Torres-Medina How can we help when a current student cannot see its grades as they use to do. Thanks

Adam Sentz Rosin Torres-Medina - It would depend on why the grade isn't visible. If you open a support request with some details one of our support reps will look into it for you.
