Could you create a list under Students for ALL ACTIVE STUDENTS - with names, advisor, degree program, matriculation date, and email address

Right now we can only email by term.

  You could probably create this in Data Slicer - do you know how to use that? You could define active as "enrolled in a course currently" and then add the fields you specified. Or you could tag with something for active, or filter by the active program status.
