We would find it really helpful for the institution to have the ability to deactivate text numbers for students whose text number is incorrect if the student fails to reset the number once we become aware that the number is incorrect. As it is we have no way to deactivate the number which annoys the person who continues to receive texts that are not for them and leaves us thinking the student has important information the student never received.

Adam Sentz Norm Stoppenbrink - If a SMS number is no longer valid for a particular user it either no longer works, or belongs to someone else now. If it no longer works our system will automatically invalidate it the next time an SMS send is attempted. If the number now belongs to someone else, that person can invalidate the number by replying STOP to any received SMS.
Since verified SMS numbers are used for two-factor authentication in Populi, it would be problematic to allow a third party who does not have control of a particular SMS number to deactivate that number.
