Reversal Button Date Customization

Hello there,

I have an idea for an addition feature for the reversal button.

I think it would be very beneficial to have an option to select when the reversal will be posted.

Right now, if I made a wrong entry 3 months ago and want to reverse it, I have to reverse it as of the current date. Let me know if I am wrong in saying this.

If the current date is after our year end but the entry I want to reverse is before our year end, our financial statements will not contain the reversed entry (very annoying).

At the very least, having the option to reverse on the date of the initial transaction or the current date would be beneficial.

Just some thoughts from a rambling accountant.

  Thanks for this feedback. For the scenario you mention, would it make sense to temporarily change the financial lock date and void that particular transaction?

  I still really need this feature! Reversals should not just default to the current date! Or at least there should be an option to post either on the original entry date or the current date. Voiding and entering a reversing entry on a different date does not work for us as our transactions are exported to our accounting system regularly and voiding of entry is not exported.
