Hello,
I'd like to request a feature where a notification is sent to faculty of a course when a student enters a comment for an assignment, regardless if the assignment was submitted or not.
We have found students use this area to attempt connection with faculty concerning the specific assignment and often the faculty are unaware the comment was made in the first place.

I am also looking for this feature! I often leave comments on student assignments and then it opens a dialogue...except I don't know it is a dialogue because I'm not notified. Anywhere. It seems onerous to have to flip through old assignments just to check for new comments.
Academics Department Jenn McRae - There is a notification for students assignment submissions/comments. Are you sure you didn't turn that off? Under Settings > Notifications look for Notify me about assignment submissions. This controls notifications for all submissions and comments on an assignment.
Adam Sentz Can those be separated? I don't want an email every time a student submits an assignment, but I do want to be notified when they make a comment.
Jeffrey Sherrod - I don't believe they can be separated.
Adam Sentz has there been any progress on Jeff's comment to be able to separate the assignment notifications from the comments for the teachers.
Also, is it possible to have email notifications sent to students when comments are posted on their assignments - both submitted and non-submitted assignments. We have teachers who comment on assignments to give feedback, ask questions, etc. or to post reminders for the student to submit assignments but often the students are not seeing any kind of notification and thus not checking or seeing these comments.
Abby Stufflebeam - I'm not totally sure, but we just released a complete redo of Notifications and it looks like there are separate Assignment Submitted and Assignment Activity notifications so maybe that's what you're after. I'd check those out.
