Bethany Herrod - From what I can gather they don't support third party API integrations. I don't know if you've had a chance to try Unicheck, but I've been pretty impressed with it.

Luis Giménez - If you know a student's primary language preference in advance you can set it on their profile before they are even given a user account.

Nic Toney - You probably already know about this, but in case you don't, you can leave a note on each student on the Roster.

Mimansa Geere - It's possible to create groups in Populi (Home > Groups), but it's up to each school whether they allow students to create them or not.
