I agree... at least to be able to turn on a syncing of discussion groups anyway... would definitely want it to be an option that could be controlled and only turned on for specific courses.

I'll add one more comment... student ID variable would be extremely helpful... we print that on all our acceptance letters and confirmation of enrollment letters.
